We had a “lunch in the park” here in Denver today…well attended, maybe 200 people?

For me it produces several reactions - - - - - gratitude , sorrow , anger , pity , bewilderment , guilt .

That night stirred up a lot of reactions in me as well. I’m still trying to digest it and some of the other things I’ve been getting into.

Wow. That looks like a good event. Is it sponsored by a Catholic charity?

One thing that struck me about the homeless that night is that they were a community within a community. I’d never seen them that way before and I was pleased to be a part of it.

I’ve a question tad. Simply out of curiosity is Christ the 6th figure back in the soup line?

That’s Him. The subtlety is intentional. I was inspired by this woodcut hanging in the kitchen at the parish where the soup was prepared.

And to me makes your work stand out. I REALLY REALLY want a print to hang in my house. And maybe another to give to the local church…

Here it is. It’s Catholic and called “Christ in the City” . It’s a two year program for college age-ish people to go out and serve. Very interesting. I first heard of them on EWTN, I think.
