Christ is baptized!
Blest Theophony to all of us on the new calendar. 🙂
And blest eve of the Nativity to the rest of us. 🙂

Theophany–Blessing of the Water–Precious Cross

When You, O Lord, were baptized in the Jordan,
the worship of the Trinity was made manifest.
For the voice of the Father bore witness to You,
calling You His Beloved Son;
and the Spirit in the form of a dove
confirmed the truthfulness of His word.
O Christ our God, You have revealed Yourself
and have enlightened the world, glory to You.

Why is it, O sea, that you fled; O Jordan, that you turned back?

O Son of God, baptized by John in the Jordan, save us who sing to you. Alleluia!
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endures forever.
 
Blessed Theophany!

I was able to attend a Vigil Liturgy for Theophany, and I feel immensely blessed. When Father was blessing the temple and people with the Theophany water, while he was blessing the festal icon some water came back and hit me straight in the eye! 😃
 
Interestingly, our three candle candelabra has a double headed eagle at its base while the Slavic churches have a cross.
 
There was so little water in the creek this year… please pray for rain and snow here. We need it this year.
