Christian Philosopher William Lane Craig Is Ready to Debate, but Finds Few Challengers

From Dawkins explanation of why he will not debate:

“Don’t feel embarrassed if you’ve never heard of William Lane Craig. He parades himself as a philosopher, but none of the professors of philosophy whom I consulted had heard his name either.”

I had never heard of Dawkins or Craig until a few years ago. Is Mr. Dawkins so full of himself that he will only debate the top world renowned philosophers? I have never heard of the archbishop of York that Dawkins brags to have ‘engaged’.

This reminds me of a transcript of a debate between Craig and Bart Ehrman I read. In it Craig consistently refers to Ehrman as Professor Ehrman. Ehrman refers to Craig as Bill.

What should really be taken from both instances is not only the snobbery of these anti-Christians but their explicit contempt for those they view as less than them. They claim to love humanity but you know that is a lie when you see the disdain they show for people they consider just barely below them in intelligence.

wow, that’s a step away from a literal strawman argument.

I wouldn’t take any of it too seriously though. There’s a lot of rhetoric and other statements that just seem to be for show mixed in there.

Craig should be quite happy to debate an empty chair. He might actually have a chance to win.
