Many religions, especially those with a monastic tradition, have physical disciplines that developed along side the religion (I.e. Hatha yoga with Hinduism, Ti chi with Taoism, and the various martial arts with Buddhism). As Christianity is a very physical religion which expresses itself with physical gestures (I.e. Sign of the cross, genuflection, bowing), has there ever been, or is there currently, a physical discipline that has developed within Christianity that’s is more along the line of the other religions?

I would say fasting is the most prevalent in Christianity as a physical discipline.
Meditation would be a close second. The two most used meditations in Christianity being the rosary and lectio divina.

Although not so much used today is corporal modification, in which there are a variety of types used within Catholicism throughout the ages but I do believe that many of them are looked down upon today.

I’m not sure you can find any general practice since almost any physical discipline requires the oversight of a spiritual father or mother. It would vary for almost every person. In addition, the Church would not promote a universal physical action simply for the sake of the physical (exercise)…
