Does anyone know of any good, Christian rock-type bands out there, maybe of the teenage variety? Nothing serious really, I’m just looking for some upbeat, peppy stuff to have on my iPod for when I jog. I love my exercise, and since it makes me so grateful for this gorgeous earth and all my body can do for me, it seems right to involve God in my music. 🙂

When I work out I listen to Pillar, Jeremy Camp, Seventh Day Slumber and Todd Smith, the list goes on. They all remind me of when I was younger. Put the earphones on and hit the weights, they are very upbeat if you like it a little hard. 👍
 
I remember some old-school rock bands (old school for me anyways)

Heavy stuff
Stavesacre
Sometime Sunday (my favorite band, so sad they broke up)
Turniquet
MXPX (punk)

Moderate stuff
Plankeye (my band actually opened for them in Fresno a few years back)
Audio Adrenaline
Newsboys

I’ll post more if I can remember them all, I used to have quite the collection

Here’s some AMAZING local bands from my area, I can give you some of the website but you may have to get the rest from some of their message boards.

My personal favorite:

Three Cord Wonder (formally SoK, also known as 3CW) They’re absolutely amazing and totally personal and down to earth. You should definitely make a point of listening to Made Perfect. Here’s their forum: www.sokmusic.com/board or www.threecordwonder.com/board. Just tell them Briddz sent you:) They have links to purevolume.com where you can download songs and stuff.

My other favorites: After the Order from Nebraska…I’m not sure what their website is, but you can definitely get it from the 3CW site. Archimedes…You can get to their site by going to www.myspace.com/archimedes (it might be archimedesrock…I don’t think so but I’m not sure)

Here’s others that I absolutely love…you can get all their sites from the 3CW board, just ask and someone will definitely have the list.

They are all pretty light in my opinion. Relient K is more moderate. That’s just my thought.

And quick question: Taking Back Sunday is a Christian band?? Since when (though I guess I never really listened to their lyrics so whatever)

hmmm…I may have lied:) Taking Back Sunday is not the band I was thinking of, I confused the name and asked my sister…found out it is definitely not the band I was thinking of…and even then I can’t say if they are Christian or not, though I assume they aren’t…and now I can’t think of the name of the band I WAS thinking of…oh well, my apologies for the mix-up and I’ll get back to you:)

Hi! I came across a CD called “Love Never Fails” and it’s great because it’s a Catholic band. It has a mixture of songs including even a RAP one. I think you’d enjoy it esp. while jogging. Sorry I can’t think of the band’s name (it’s in the family van and its out of town with half the family.)
