Hello, I have problem with translating this catholic video from youtube:
youtube.com/watch?v=_UHuJD3FYt8
Can anyone paraphrase the quote from this video said by any protestant:
“We are not saying, it is time to compromise Scripture. But there is something about reaching across the aisle”
What it mean?

As a non-Catholic I can say this without being invested in either “side” of the aisle.

Anyone who puts together a “Catholic vs Christian” video didn’t do the first bit of research on either “side” and such a video is junk not worth watching.

So I watched the video. The quote you’re referring to means that while the Protestants in attendance realize that there are some serious, and perhaps irreconcilable (at this time anyway) differences in how Catholics and Protestants interpret and view the role of scripture, there’s still some value in ecumenical events.

The gentleman in the video makes some valid points, but his delivery could have been more gracious, and makes me question whether his video would be received better if he were a little more approachable.🤷

Thanks, I think, that I have understood what it means. Have a nice day 🙂

MY [personal take] is:

My truth is as valid as your truth:shrug:

To which I would respond with two points:

[1] Take any accepted dictionary’s definition of TRUTH and see how that position squares with it:)

[2] And from Pope Benedict XVI

“THERE CAN;T BE YOUR TRUTH AND MY TRUTH OR THERE WOULD BE NO TRUTH”🙂

God Bless you
