There is going to be a mid-week ChristLife Conference HERE next month, presenting a program for helping Catholics to become evangelizers. It’s something to be brought back to the parish, and to offer in churches or dioceses.

The whole program for the parishes is a three 7-week sub-programs, which are:

1. Discovering Christ. “Encounter Jesus and be part of the Church.”
2. Following Christ. “Catholic discipleship in prayer, scripture, sacraments, spiritual warfare and more.”
3. Sharing Christ. “Share Jesus with others and invite them to be part of the Church.”

Can such a program help ignite a zeal for evangelization among the brethren - or at least help them to begin to speak about the Faith with others? I certainly hope so. Catholics have been accused of having not Spirit-kindled tongues of fire, but rather “frozen tongues” when it comes to talking with others about religion, God, the Faith, Catholic teachings, Scripture - etc. Maybe this program can help.

The Church made a call for a New Evangelization, now decades ago, and we had not seen much in response so far. I hope this is one example of a real and responsible hearing, and doing.
