Here’s a British ad i found - about the Nativity scene… did they have to to put all those pearl necklaces on that young girl?

Maybe they were trying to make the costume look homemade? I think most angels might take exception to the idea that they wear pearls.

I think the idea was the angels are supposed to be really shiny and sparkly but the Gates of Heaven are made of pearls so that really seems odd. Why is she wearing material the gates are made of?

It’s like that joke about the man who knew Christ as Savior but he was really rich and convinced God to let him bring one bag with him to Heaven. He brought it up there and when he got there he was told, all the things you could bring and you brought pavement? Because the gold he brought was what they make the streets with.

I can’t believe you are really serious, but for what it’s worth, I’d imagine the thinking of the ad agency team was this. The little girl was shy. So whoever dressed her would use the necklaces as a bribe. or a way of making her feel happier about being in the limelight.

A situation that many a family could relate to, surely?

This is a cute ad about a big brother’s love for his little sister.
In the angel scene, which lasts what, 10 seconds, she is wearing like 2 strands of what appear to be the same type of costume beads one decorates Christmas trees with or wears on Mardi Gras. From the original post, I expected to see angels blinged out in enough gold to be rap moguls. Not the case.

I find it weird that anyone would fixate on a detail of a little girl wearing a couple of pretty necklaces in the school play. We all know that “real” angels probably do not need any ornamentation, but this is a little girl, in a play, wearing a pretty dress and some costume jewelry like little girls enjoy wearing for dress-up occasions. That’s all there is to it. Don’t overthink it.

I’m just really pleased to see an advert that actually contains a reference to the Nativity!

Note to self: put tongue right through cheek, next time!

Its called over talking and under thinking…we are ALL guilty of it at least 4-5 times in our lives!

Merry Christmas to you!

thank you. Yeah i should have been more clear that my opening post was a parody. Poe’s Law, indeed.

Although I could work up some offense at the angel’s announcement of “I bring great news! A greater variety of gluten-free products—oh, and also, the birth of Christ.”

@Michelle_Garvey who is the picture of. The one next to your name?
