Some people say that Christmas is only December 25th because if was replacing a pagan festival on the same day. I’ve had a look through New Advent newadvent.org/cathen/03724b.htm and found a good article that concurrs with this opinion to some degree.

So, my question is what do you have to say about this? How do you answer people who say that Christmas was originally a pagan festival of the winter solstice and how can we get across the special message of Christmas in this sense?

These arguements have been around forever, it is simply to takeway your faith, even christian protestants will use this pagan justification for not being Catholic.

The Jewish faith knew that a special king would be born through there tradition,

what if the Pagons stole this date and this story prior to it actually happening?

meaning many traditions and stories involved in the promise of Jesus Christ, the star watchers knew of this date through their star charts that a great king would be born, many others known as pagons could have pre adopted the mesiah story prior to it actually occuring.
