Christological Prayers

Hello,

I am looking for traditional Latin Catholic prayers that focus and emphasis aspects of Christology - a prayer that focuses on the Incarnation, one that emphasizes the Hypostatic Union, one that declares the Two Natures of Christ and one of the Two Wills of Christ, etc., etc.

For instance, in the Maronite Rite they have this prayer which is very Christological:

You have united, O Lord,
Your Divinity with our humanity
and our humanity with Your Divinity;
Your life with our mortality
and Your mortality with our life.
You have assumed what is ours,
and You have given us what is Yours,
for the life and salvation of our souls.
To You, O Lord, be glory forever.

I am looking for prayers of this intensity and ilk in the Latin tradition.

Here is one I say each morning - focusing on the Kingship of Christ, received from the ICKSP:

Consecration to Christ the King

Lord Jesus Christ, I acknowledge you King of the Universe. All that has been created as been made for Thee. Excercise upon me all Thy rights. I renew my baptismal promises, renouncing Satan and all his works and pomps. I promise to live a good Christian life and to do all in my power to procure the triumph of the rights of God and Thy Church. Divine Heart of Jesus, I offer Thee my poor actions in order to obtain that all hearts may acknowledge Thy sacred Royalty, and that thus the reign of Thy peace may be established throughout the universe.
Amen.

That is a nice prayer. Does this prayer stem from Pius XI’s Encyclical Quas Primas?

I don’t know…just picked it up on a prayer card in the vestibule of the church. 🙂

the traditional prayers of St. Thomas Aquinas for before and after communion do what you are looking for, they are printed in most missals.

Aren’t these mostly Eucharistic? I think that they are, and they are great prayers, but not what I am looking for with this thread.
