We read in Luke 8:40-end that a certain woman touched Christ’s cloak and immediately her issue of blood stopped. Thats quite a story An an inanimate object, effected great power, simply because it is associated with Christ.

Another incredible place is in Acts 5:15, where if the shadow of Peter, the First Pope and Holy Father, if “his shadow at the least, might overshadow any of them, and they might be delivered from their infirmities.”. Wow. Another one of those things we have to think about.

I think the question of why these objects have such power, is a good question and the answer, any way you look at it, is because the cloak and Peters shadow, are related in the sense that they are CLOSE to Christ.

Now let me ask you a question:
Is Mary still just a vessel?

If you BELIEVE that by touching Christ garment, or having the healing by being overshadowed by St. Peters shadow are real things, how much more CLOSE is the Blessed Virgin Mary to Christ than anyone else? And how much more can she help you if you only but ask Her?

HailMary, since coming into Holy Mother Church I have had a great love for The Blessed Virgin (as my screen name would indicate), but I never thought of this point concerning her. What a wonderfully new way (new at least to me) of seeing the great importance of our Lady in salvation history.👍

Some of the most important things are left unexplained. For example, if you read the text at the wedding of Cana, it never explicilty says that Christ has turned the water into wine, its implied and also, if you read Matthew 9:32-34, when Christ drives out a demon, it never actually says it explicitly its one of those things you *can’t * explain. Even the Israelites proclaim, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.“Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”.

I’ve noticed that much about the Blessed Virgin is hidden in the same way. You can see one example here.

Wow HailMary,I can’t wait to re-read the Wedding Feast of Cana, this time in light of what you have just said.

The beauty of Mary is all over scripture, we just need the eyes of faith (and some pretty smart posters here:thumbsup: ) to see it.

Its not my website, just the bible study I attend in San Diego. The person who manages the site is IMO, the best speaker and taught me most of what I know about the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The site is back up, and you can listen to a few full length talks here.

God Bless

Thank You HailMary, the site opened right up for me. Now on to the study.🙂
