On Thursday night my parish, St. Mary’s Knanaya Catholic Church, Houston, was broken into and robbed. The two men stole many items and destroyed numerous church property, all the while our vicar, Fr. Matthew Meledath and a visiting priest barricaded themselves into the church office. Our two priests in fear had silently watched from the office surveillance cameras what was going on outside while waiting for the police. By the time the police had arrived the two men had escaped, at the moment there is an on going investigation.

I understand that some individuals become so desperate to the point where they must steal but to steal from a church? A person must truly be a criminal and one without a conscious. St. Mary’s is adorned with plentiful icons of Isho Mishiha and the Great Saints, I hope these two men truly felt the shame as the eyes of these icons watched thier sin. I ask you to please pray for my church so that justice may be fulfilled and to pray for these two men, so they can understand and repent for their heavy sins.

Definitely will keep St. Mary’s in my prayers. The church I attended in college was severly vandalised one night and took months to restore. The guilty person was caught and returned to our church to apologize and ask for forgiveness. Once again my prayers will be with you and your parish.

Praying for St Mary’s Church it’s Priests, staff & parishioners.

Praying for your church and the men who broke into it…

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
