I’m doing a presentation series on Exodus in the next several months. I’m looking for Patristic and other ancient commentary on this book. So far, these are my sources:
  1. Philo - The Life of Moses
  2. Origen - Commentary on Exodus
  3. St. Gregory of Nyssa - The Life of Moses
  4. St. Ephrem - Commentary on Exodus
  5. Josephus - Antiquities of the Jews
Any other works that may be helpful? Thank you.

More contemporary scholarship is also welcome (e.g. Jerome Biblical Commentary), although I generally am looking for scholarship that is not historical-critical obsessed.

Works that address particular episodes in the book of Exodus (e.g. Mt. Sinai, construction of the tabernacle, ark, etc.) is also welcome, even if it does not cover the book of Exodus as a whole.

Thanks

The Philokalia might have references to the book of Exodus. Unfortunately, they don’t have scripture references in the back.

Thanks. I had not thought of the Philokalia.

I have the Ante-Nicene Fathers volumes, and those do have references at the back of each book.

I’m pretty sure St. John Chrysostom did something on Exodus. He seems to have done every other book.
