I am doing research of early church history from 89 ad. to 250 ad. If you look at my site you can see which writings I have listed: allthingschrist.com/writings_nnt_byauthor.php

My main question now is are those writings I listed, the only ones that have been discovered for that perdiod or are there more writings for that date which I have not listed? Maybe the catholic church keeps a list of writings for that period? And where can I find or how can I get a hold of them?

Thanks for your help.
Jeff

Not sure about a total list, but I noticed that the Protoevangelium of James (A.D. 120) was not included on your site.

Actually I crossed that writing before and I don’t know why I never picked it up. Is it considerd spurious buy the catholic church or what?

Thanks,
Jeff

It is considered a patristic source by some, but not thought to be athentically authored by James, the brother of Jesus. It is considered apocryphal by the Catholic Church.

Make sure to consult the footnotes and bibliographies of the first two volumes of Dr. Warren Carroll’s magnificent History of Christendom series:

Vol I: The Founding of Christendom (to A.D. 324)

Vol II: The Building of Christendom (A.D. 324-1100)

I think you will experience doing so as something akin to opening a treasure chest full of gold and precious jewels.

Yep they all are. I am guessing that the list i have must be pretty exhaustive for that period. There is the one by a james that someone else listed which I haven’t decided I will put up yet. And there is tertullian but I haven’t decided if I want to include him yet either. I hope there are more somewhere.
