Wouldn’t it be normal that churches are open 24/7 if really it is the home of God.specially for folks like me who has just decided out of nowhere to go pray I walked to two but unfortunately they were both close

It would be nice, but it is not practical or safe any longer. Fortunately, God hears our prayers wherever we are, 24/7! 🙂

It wasn’t that long ago that our church always kept a side door open, 24/7. It was off the main parking lot and off the street – one had to go around the building to the inside grotto to access it. Even that wasn’t enough to prevent vandalism. Someone came in and desecrated the tabernacle. Ever since, all the doors to the church have remained locked. It’s like punishing everyone for the actions of just one person – or maybe more than one, but certainly not the majority. Collective penalizing. Not really fair, but our Lord needs to be protected inside of God’s house. As Irishmom2 has pointed out, God hears our prayers wherever we are.

I have been known to drive to church, knowing it’s locked, to sit in my car in the parking lot and pray. It helps sometimes to be out of one’s home and saying a prayer. 🙂
