Church's stand on "life flashing before us" experience

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering if there is an official stand by the Church on the authenticity of what is referred to as one’s “life flashing before them” just before or after death?

Many mystics have written about the experience and there have been claims by those who have almost died that there is an accounting of their life in visuals.

I understand that the Church teaches that we will be accountable, however is there anywhere that states this accountability means seeing our entire earthly life, as though in a movie?

There is no such authoritative teaching, probably because most human beings do not die in circumstances that allow registering such an experience (I.e., going from full consciousness direct to death). Most human beings die asleep, or unconscious, or mentally impaired.

Still, as one’s mind moves into Eternity, it stands to reason that your consciousness would be freed from the effects of time, and you’d see your whole human life.
