Clarification on 4 way medal please

Hello all, I’ve done some research on the forum, as well as online, and I would just like to try and get some clarification on the four way medal.

I recently found one in my deceased grandmothers jewelry box, and wasn’t even sure what it was. I started to wear it with my Crucifix because I unfortunately lost my Miraculous Medal. While trying to figure out if this medal can take the place of the Miraculous Medal, I now have more questions than answers.

So I apologize for bringing this subject up again but…

1)Can this substitute a Miraculous Medal?
2)Can this take the place of a Scapular?
3)Is enrolling one just getting one blessed?

There are a few different variations of the 4 way medal but most contain the miraculous medal. Wearing a 4 way is the same as wearing all four medals separately.

Initial enrollment in the scapular is with a corded cloth one. There is a special prayer for enrollment in the scapular. After that, a scapular medal can be worn instead if it is blessed with a simple blessing. Scapular medals are usually one of the four in a 4-way medal.

From what I’ve looked up, I’d have to have my 4 way medal blessed twice in order for it to suffice and a scapular medal?

No, the medal only has to be blessed once but it has to be **after **you are already enrolled in the scapular for it to be a substitute for wearing a cloth scapular.
