What is the prevailing view/norm in United States regarding non-liturgical clerical attire for deacons in the Roman Rite?

I am familiar with Diocese in Northern California and here it seems Deacons don’t wear a clerical shirt with collar or anything else to signify they are part of the Holy Orders.
