I understand the Church allows much freedom in interpreting scripture but there are a ‘handful’ of passages that she claims are not open to debate. Could someone list those for me if it’s not too much trouble.

-Thanks

They’re listed in Steven Kellmeyer’s book, “Bible Basics”. I don’t remember if I can remember them all, but here goes:

Mt. 16:18-19
Mt. 26:26-28
Mk. 14:22-24
Lk. 22:19-20
Jn. 3:5
Jn. 6:63-64?
Jn. 20:22-23
Jn. 21:15-17
Rom. 5:12
1 Cor. 11:23-29

I think I might be missing two. I can’t remember. BTW, while these have been dogmatically interpreted, that doesn’t mean that you can’t have another spiritual interpretation. But any other interpretation cannot contradict the dogmatic interpretation.

I read somewhere that the Council of Trent made a pronouncement that Malachi 1:10-11 was referring to the Mass (which to me it clearly is). Does anyone know about this?
