I have a query. I am, like many women, somewhat fond of fashion. We ladies like to look nice. At the same time, I try to avoid supporting places that degrade women by treating them as sex objects in their marketing. Most of you should appreciate how hard this is, given the state of modern advertising! I am not well off, so new clothing is a bit of a treat, especially stuff that doesnât come from the leftovers racks.
An example issue:
I was out shopping yesterday. I have a beautiful strapless top that I thought would look lovely overtop of a lace shirt. Lo and behold, I finally found a lace roseprint top. But when I looked at the tags, the picture was of a woman wearing only the (very sheer) top in an extremely provoctive pose. I ended up not getting it, but I feel so disappointed - it seems like everything pretty and affordable is being marketed in this way.
Any other women out there who worry about this?
