CNN Underhandedly Smears Ukrainian Catholics

Have I been misinformed about the participation of a great many Ukrainians in the Shoah?
 
I read that there were Ukrainian Catholics who collaborated with the Nazis. For example, Stepan Bandera, who is oftentimes thought of as a hero of Ukraine.
 
As far as I know Bandera fought against the Nazis and against the Soviets.

According to Wikipedia: “When Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union he allied himself with them, but after he attempted to proclaim an independent Ukrainian state, the Gestapo put him under house arrest on 5 of July 1941”.
 
In some European States there were cases when national liberation movements waited for the opportunity to overthrow the Nazis, and when they saw that eventually pan-Germanism will not accept their national sovereignties, they openly fought with the Nazis.
