What evidence do you have for this serious accusation?

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the leading international body for the assessment of climate change. It was established by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in 1988 to provide the world with a clear scientific view on the current state of knowledge in climate change and its potential environmental and socio-economic impacts.

Thousands of scientists from all over the world contribute to the work of the IPCC on a voluntary basis. Review is an essential part of the IPCC process, to ensure an objective and complete assessment of current information. IPCC aims to reflect a range of views and expertise. The Secretariat coordinates all the IPCC work and liaises with Governments. It is supported by WMO and UNEP and hosted at WMO headquarters in Geneva.

The IPCC was the one tainted by the faked data incorporated into early models. Now, it has finally admitted that it missed the “warming” mark, but is going to go at it again to “prove” that its models are correct this time.

The UN has a great deal to gain from this, since it supports the idea of “polluting” nations (like the U.S., but not China that is actually #1 in putting CO2 into the atmosphere) paying other nations for “credits”. It has a clear conflict of interest.

So do people like Gore, Soros, Gates and Buffett who have invested a lot of money in “alternative energy”, and Obama, who pays billions of our money to support those projects and to promote the idea of MMGW so he can receive financial support from environmental groups. It would probably be cheaper to just let them loot the treasury directly.

The big losers in all of this will be the poor. Energy supply and cost affect everything from heating to food, and definitely affects jobs.

And glacial retreat is basically in Europe. Glaciers are growing in the Himalayas, south America, Alaska, even some in the Alps are. climatedepot.com/2013/09/30/the-first-alpine-glaciers-are-growing-again/

I do realize MMGW promoters attribute all information to MMGW. If a glacier retreats, it’s global warming. If it grows, its global warming due to more snow. If it stays the same, it’s global warming, but with a temporary slowdown.

“It appears that we have a very good case for suggesting that the El Ninos are going to become more frequent, and they’re going to become more intense and in a few years, or a decade or so, we’ll go into a permanent El Nino. So instead of having cool water periods for a year or two, we’ll have El Nino upon El Nino, and that will become the norm. One of the world’s leading climate experts warned of an underestimated threat posed by the buildup of greenhouse gases ’ an abrupt collapse of the ocean’s prevailing circulation system that could send temperatures across Europe plummeting in a span of 10 years. If that system shut down today, winter temperatures in the North Atlantic region would fall by 20 or more degrees Fahrenheit within 10 years. It is truly amazing with all these catastrophes coming true that we are still able to live on planet earth.

This must be why Phil Robertson of the “Duck Dynasty” TV show starts his prayer at the end on the show with, “Jesus we thank you for another day on planet earth.”

:rolleyes::cool:

By the way, really nice work putting all these examples of leftist’s propaganda together, thanks!👍

Actually there is a website documenting over 120 years of such drivel they have promoted as “fact”.

Some things we know for sure about IPCC’s next proclamation:

-It will predict even greater disasters than before.
-It will push the timeline for disaster further into the future, since its last disaster scenarios didn’t pan out. Possibly it will push the “end of days” beyond the lifetime of anyone now living, just to be sure.
-It will call for drastic worldwide reduction in CO2 emissions.
-It will call for huge money transfers for consumers in developed countries to government, itself and other countries.
-It will attribute everything from Hurricane Sandy to snow on Mount Shasta to CO2 emissions.
-It will downplay “MMGW” and emphasize “climate change” just in case it cools.
-It will not address any of the really concerning causes of global warming, like desertification in places like China, or it will blame that desertification on “Climate Change” instead of the grotesque overuse and improper use that’s really the cause.
-It will be much balleyhooed by the left, which will feel strengthened in making the poor and the elderly freeze in the dark without food.
-The rich and powerful promoters of MMGW who don’t act as if they believe it, will continue to act as if they don’t believe it.

And if your predictions don’t come true, that puts you in the same boat as them. It will be interesting to see if you can handle “explaining” failed predictions any better.

The prediction that climate change is constant and the number of variables effecting that change are so great that accurate predictions are difficult or impossible?

Or the prediction that hinging massive formulas to calculate climate change on a trace gas in the atmosphere will be no more accurate than coin flipping?

And if your predictions don’t come true, that puts you in the same boat as them. It will be interesting to see if you can handle “explaining” failed predictions any better.
The differences are that I don’t pretend to be an expert in “climate change” and my predictions (half tongue in cheek) are predictions of the results of ideological and financial predilection, not of “climate change”.

But there is no possibility whatever that I’m wrong. If the IPCC announced “We were wrong, there’s no manmade climate change going on” it would be out of a job.

If, however, they do, then I’ll gladly, GLADLY admit that I was wrong. That would be a very small price to pay for people not to have to pay any more than market-determined prices for energy.

Unfortunately “Global Warming” is a political and economic issue.
It no longer is a scientific driven argument.

The Official UN document misrepresent the facts and hides the trends in global temperatures.

Look at the claim that “the Artic ice would have disappeared totally by this year” (2013)
That prediction turned as accurate as the end of the world due to the end of the Mayan calendar fiasco.

In fact this year we have had record breaking ice coverage in the artic. But that fact since it flies in the face of the “models” pushed by the polititians that are making bazillion $$ with this, is not reported.
I think that’s probably why they changed the name from “global warming” to “climate change”.

And we’ve been coming out of a mini ice age for about 100 years or so… What a coincidence!
If your point is that the modern changes are no different than what would be expected from natural fluctuations, then take a look at this article on the “Little Ice Age”.

Particularly note the graph of temperature at the beginning of the article. It shows that even though the end of the Little Ice Age may be a natural phenomenon, the degree of change is greater than the Medieval Warm Period that preceded the Little Ice Age. The fact that there are natural cycles does not invalidate the hypothesis that we are in the midst of exceptional changes.

My point is that glaciers shrinking after an ice age is a no brainer.

So, the change is different from the Medieval Warm Period. Again, not significant in and of itself… unless you have an agenda about Global warming…

And since all the Global Warming models have failed to predict the present trend, I guess they all can go back to the drawing board.

Of course, they’ve all buried their heads in the sand about their data set issues.

Funny how short term warming was a big deal when there was warming, but not that it has stopped for 15 years, the short term trend doesn’t mean anything.

This is all clearly political and not scientific at this point.

My point is that glaciers shrinking after an ice age is a no brainer.
I noticed you dropped the “mini”. Is that an effort to make it seem bigger than it was? It is incorrect to consider all cold periods as the same thing just as it is incorrect to consider all glacier shrinking the same. Look at the degree of change before you pronounce that it is of no consequence.

What “present trend” are you referring to?
Funny how short term warming was a big deal when there was warming, but now that it has stopped for 15 years, the short term trend doesn’t mean anything.
Short term warming is not and never has been predicted by serious climate science. They recognize that random and uncorrelated changes dominate over the short term. Although some members of the media and some politicians may cite short term warming as a short cut to convincing non-scientists of the seriousness of the issue. But ultimately such efforts backfire as it tends to discredit the whole scientific field. That is, as you say, more political than scientific. But that does not mean there isn’t valid science on this issue.

Define long term.

Most point to a 25 year trend as the “proof”. When measured in true “climate” terms (say the life of a redwood tree), the previous “warming” trend that ended almost two decades ago is insignificant in both duration and amount.
