Co-creator with God? Already in a state of eternity with Him?

After the Mass this morning, and everyone was filling out shaking hands with the priest and small chit chatting, when I approached him he said he did not remember seeing me before and I told him I am “new” and just trying to attend as often as I can and I hope one day I will be a christian, be baptised and a catholic. His response struck me to be very, different. A warning bell went off in my head, but I could just have bad discernment or did not understand what he meant. He told me I am already a christian (I am not, because I am not baptised and I told him that) because we are ALL co-creators with God.

What on earth does that mean, and where is that in the bible or the CCC?
I said, um well I do want to have eternal life with Him.
He said, we already are sharing in his eternal life NOW.

I am more confused than ever! How can this be?
 
The things he said are complete junk theology. Don’t have anything more to do with this priest - at least until you have a firm understanding of the faith and have been received into the Church. If possible, find a different parish to attend.

The Church has been going through a severe crisis for the last 40 years. It isn’t at all unusual to find parish priests who simply reject the Catholic faith.

I like one priest in that parish, and I could never leave him behind. 🙂 He’s like Bing Crosby in Going my Way type of guy.👍 Love him.

But, I want to give this Jesuit priest the benefit of the doubt. Jesuits are very educated, why would he tell me stuff like this knowing I am new?

Jesuits in many parts of the world are very good, orthodox priests. However, in the United States, they’re particularly notorious for being liberals if not outright heretics.

I can’t answer why the priest would have told you these things. Maybe he genuinely believes them and wants to convert you to his personal faith.

The key thing to take away is that this is not the Catholic faith. It has nothing to do with it whatsoever. If you have any intererest in the Catholic faith, then you won’t let this guy teach you anything. The things he said are heretical.
 
Okay, I will just pray for his return to orthodox theology.🙂
It’s kinda sad because he seemed so filled with joy. Well, I better stop typing for a bit and pray for the man.
