If you are battling a cold with coughing, does this excuse you from mass?

I have a cold and I want to go to church but they won’t let me?

Of course you mustn’t go! Charity towards your neighbour demands you must keep your germs to yourself, apart from other considerations like making yourself even more ill and being a burden to your family.

A bit of common-sense is called for.

If you are a minor, you should obey your parents and their judgment.
That’s right.

“Honor your father and mother” isn’t a suggestion. It’s a commandment.

My parents.
Nice try. 🙂

Seriously though, if you are running a fever and are very sick they will probably have you stay home. If you are able to go to school or hang out with friends, you need to be at Mass. There are times in the year that everyone in Church has a bit of a cold.
