So, I’m gonna be a HS senior this fall.
I’ve taken the ACT 3 times, getting a 25, 27, and a 31.
With luck, I’ll have a 3.00 accum when I graduate. I know that’s low, but I’ve taken multiple AP and Honors classes, will take more next year, and am at one of the hardest high schools in the state.

Should I take the ACT again?

Not really… I have a pretty varied list at the moment…I think that’s the biggest question I need to figure out

Consider the amount of student loans you want. 0-30K?

I chose to have no debt and went to a community college with reasonable tuition.

Remember, you still have to take the College Entrance Exam too!

Yeah, I’m trying to minimize those…

And I think entrance exams are a thing of the past…

They still had me sit down and take a test. This wasn’t long ago either. If you do poorly it’s remedial classes 😬

Yeah, my parents arent too big into that…

I’m probably going to do secondary education with a history and theology/philosophy bent, and, God willing, maybe enter seminary after.

With all due respect to your parents, this is your future and you must be comfortable with these decisions. I’ve seen many people waste precious time pursuing dead end degrees or switching majors.

Just make sure that whatever you do it’s YOUR decision. 👍 What if seminary doesn’t pan out? Have an idea what you can do with your degree.

I carefully planned and executed my scheme to get my current job. Others I graduated with are floundering due to their inability to network and read people.

Another consideration, Private or Public Sector? The Public Sector (Government) has better job security and retirement. Whereas the Private Sector is easier to access but very volatile.

Honestly, go for your Masters and teach at the College Level. It’s less BS and quite cushy🙂

Maybe 🙂

If i do go into seminary, i’d definitley like to pursue higher-level theology- maybe get myself a 4-horned biretta

31 is decently high on the ACT. Although, I think the test is rather skewed towards those who are good at taking tests. I got an okay score but nothing special in the ACT with me taking it three times. However, I’ve got a 3.9 as a Junior in college. So go figure.
