Are you giving her good reasons to believe that it is possible? You don’t have to answer me, but there is a piece of this puzzle that is not there and it seems you are skirting the issue with every reply.

She believes it through hearsay from her friends. She and I have a history of poor communication, which is why she’d take her friends’ words over mine. I’ve been trying to address the problem between me and my mom but she hardly provides an open and calm environment for peaceful discourse

As for her reasons for believing that I’ll get pregnant on sole observation of me, I don’t think I’ve done anything that’d instigate that. I hardly have male friends, am always indoors or in a library. I don’t conduct myself inappropriately, i.e. wearing skimpy clothing or flirting. I’m not sure how she’d arrive to that assumption

I can’t really top the suggestions that have already been made. However, one thing that I can say is that is so refreshing to see a young college student with their head on straight, has proper grammar, and is committed to their faith. I have no doubt in my mind that you will be successful.

I can only offer my life experience on college which I fully paid for myself, as did my wife. We fully funded our college degrees and our wedding the week after she graduated with her BS degree in 2002. I earned my AAS in 2001 in the medical technology field, which I love doing and find very rewarding. We take great pride with a strong sense of satisfaction that we paid our own way.

I suggest you pick the top two degree’s YOU like the best regardless of what school they are offered at. Then, go to Adoration for an hour to spend time with Jesus about what to do and pray about it. I’ve had jobs before that I hated and life was no fun and negatively affected my faith life. You have to pick what you are going to do with your life and what is going to make you happy and bring your closer to God. If at the end of Adoration, you still don’t have an idea of what to do, at least you spent the hour in a good way and in good company.

God gave us Free Will for us to choose Him. While it’s awesome your mother wants to protect you as long as possible, there comes a time when she has to let you make your own decisions, even if they are sinful or bad ones. In my own experience, the bad choices made have resulted in the best lessons learned.

As a I parent, I dread the day when my four kids leave for college. Thankfully my oldest is eight, so I have a ways to go. I pray my kids will have the maturity of mind and faith that you seem to have.
