Hello,

I am part of a somewhat new college ministry (and so is our Pastor).

I’m just looking for advice anyone can give me from your past experiences.

Also, I want our campus ministry website to be an evangelization opportunity for Catholics and non-Catholics, so I’d also appreciate any advice you can offer in that regard.

Thank you and God Bless.

One thing I found in the little campus ministry that I have been involved with is there is a need for an RCIA like process. Many either stopped going to Church (returning Catholic) or never were Confirmed, or now that they are out of the house, they are free to explore Catholicism. Returning Catholics and Confirmation preparation can take place within the campus community. The potential “RCIA” either seeking Baptism or converting from a protestant faith would need to be a joint effort between the campus and the local parish and all will interface with their “home” parish where they will usually be during school breaks.

God bless you!

I agree with Bro. there is a need for a RCIA like classes…maybe just call it inquirers class, or make it a social thing with some good DVDs/CDs of Catholic speakers.

I know someone who is a college Chaplain. (I’d rather not tell you on a public forum about his ministry, because, um…he’s probably well know in the Protestant sect and he’s came out and said quite a bit about a very sensitive issue that is against Catholic teaching)…anyhoo…I have my opinions of what is needed on College Campuses…

Good luck!
