Columnist blasts conservative Catholics

The impetus for Ms. McNamara’s column was Boston’s branch of Catholic Charities recent honoring of Mayor Tom Menino. Since Menino has been very public about his pro-abortion and pro-gay marriage positions, a group of “conservative” catholics expressed their opposition to his being honored. McNamara tries to bolster her case against these conservative “activists” by highlighting and ridiculing some of their views. In my opinion, the only thing that she points out is how obviously faithful these “conservative activists” are to the Church’s Magisterium. In other words, they were just simply telling the truth.
