How can genuine love of others be a negative effect. It is only a positive thing to live the commandments, which are basically commands to love God and love others with practical love and without harming anyone.
2196…“He who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. The commandments, **‘You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,’ and any other commandment, are summed up in this sentence, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” ** Romans 13:8-10.
In response to the question about the first of the commandments, Jesus says: "The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
2184 Just as God "rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done,"121 human life has a rhythm of work and rest. The institution of the Lord’s Day helps everyone enjoy adequate rest and leisure to cultivate their familial, cultural, social, and religious lives.122
2185 On Sundays and other holy days of obligation, the faithful are to refrain from engaging in work or activities that hinder the worship owed to God, the joy proper to the Lord’s Day, the performance of the works of mercy, and the appropriate relaxation of mind and body.123 Family needs or important social service can legitimately excuse from the obligation of Sunday rest. The faithful should see to it that legitimate excuses do not lead to habits prejudicial to religion, family life, and health.
There is much that is positive also in giving God who created and saved us the thanksgiving and respect He deserves way beyond our capacity except through His mercy. There is much that is positive in resting, cultivating our family relationships and healthy recreation on Sundays.

Biblical source: Matthew 25 verses 31-46 where Jesus makes clear that practical acts of kindness to others, which He also takes as kindness to Him, is what, through His mercy, is His criteria for judging souls ‘worthy’ of heaven.

Making a true effort to honor and respect my parents has increased my ability to perceive what is good in others, so that I respect other people more. This is because it was hard for me to like my father, so it took much work and many increases in understanding to appreciate him as a person. This gain has carried over to my respect for all people.
*I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery; you shall have no other gods before me.

This commandment keeps things in perspective. It is when I forget my relationship to God, that he is my creator to whom I owe everything and he cares for me and guides me, it is mostly then that I flail about and make a mess of my life. Being focused on my true position (created by God), on reality (that he is in control), and not living in fear, these things help me to not cause harm to others on account of my fear or pride run amok.
