YES, needing your :twocents:

What commentary(ies) would you recommend for the average learner? Are there any ‘Catholic’ commentaries out there? Are commentaries helpful?

Many questions, but really needing some answers!

Thank you all in advance! :tiphat:

I 👍 recommend the Navarre series. Get it or order it. Explains the text and tells you how to apply it.There is also a new one that can be ordered through Tan books. Karl Keating, I think has even recommended the Navarre. He won’t ever lead you astray and it’s important to have the correct(as much as possible)
commentary.

The Ignatius Study Bible is also excellent.
Thanks so much!!!
Well, what about “A Practical Commentary on Holy Scripture” by Bishop Frederick Justus Knecht, D.D? This book was just introduced to me by a friend and it is by Tan Books. Anyway, it seems to have been around for years, published in 1923 to be exact. So, if anyone knows about this one, please feel free to give your views.
