Before and after communion, am I supposed to clean my hands with alcohol? If so, won’t I also receive alcohol in the stomach, which is not good? Won’t, both before and after the communion, the alcohol touch Our Lord? Will this be an offense?

Hand sanitizer evaporates within a few seconds (provided you don’t use too much and rub it into your hands sufficiently) so, no it won’t touch our Lord - at least not in any significant way. As for receiving alcohol in the stomach, the only way that’s going to happen is if you’re drinking the stuff.

A lot of people use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when they enter the church for Mass, in order to avoid spreading COVID. In non-COVID times, many people also used a little hand sanitzer before receiving in the hand so their hands would be clean.

The stuff dries on your hands in seconds. If you received any as a result of your sanitized hand, it would be such a miniscule amount it would have no effect.

It’s not an offense.

Well, what is the alternative?

To touch the Eucharist with unclean hands?

Is that supposed to be an obviously more respectful alternative?

You wouldn’t happen to be suffering from scrupulosity, would you…?

If there’s no alcohol or hand sanitizer, wiping could be in action 👍
Will this be an offense?
Nope, I also do the same thing. I make sure that the tiny particles are not stuck on my hand after communion.
