Communion offered yields 'scandal;' what to think?

Fr. Serpa: What is the best way to approach thinking about communion being offered to Bidenn, Pelosi. My tendency is to think there is a level of tolerance of ‘what is’ which is wordless and has to encompass situations we observe such as this… life is full of them and they are all in our faces because of the internet.

Dear friend,

The fact that such people are public figures does not lessen the sacrilege of their receiving the Eucharist while publicly supporting sinful behavior. Their bishops have a moral obligation to admonish them in a manner that is consistent with the gravity of such disregard. I suspect that such action will finally come in the near future.
