Communion Rite

I am surprised and puzzled by the recent practice of our new Pastor at Mass. As far back as I can remember, just before Holy Commuion is distributed The Priest elevates the Host and says some thing like " This is the Lamb of God"… or “Behold the Lamb of God”… who takes away the sins of the world, happy are we who are called to this supper… We reply "Lord I am not worthy to recieve you only say the word…etc. Our priest does not elevate the Host and with his hands often planted on the altar says "The Lamb of God Takes away the sins of this world…No identification of the Host as our lord and no elevation. Is this an acceptable variation of the communion rite?

No. This is an abuse. There are no acceptable variations for this part of the mass. Of course some of us would prefer ‘Lord I am not worthy that you should come under my roof’ but ICEL translations rule the world these days.
