As the prayer forum is for prayer only, opening this tread where people can toss out ideas for helping.

If I recall, the issue is that you live on an SSI check. Your rent payment is consuming all of your SSI check and still not covering the rent. There is a shortage and you need some ideas about resources.

First question, is the shortage for the May rent or are you still paying April?

Second, do you feel comfortable to reveal the Diocese you live in?

Texas has an amazing network of Catholic Charities.

Also, The United Way works at the county level, so it covers the tiniest towns. Google your county “United Way” and ask them for their community resources or if they use Charity Tracker. If they do use the CT system, ask if they could put out a bulletin to get you help with rent.

Then, moving forward, either CC or UW should have information that will help you get into income based housing for the disabled. These places will not require more than 1/3 of your income for rent.
