Hi,

Quick question. Which is the better compact RSV (quality, typeset, binding)? The one published by Ignatius Press or the one by Scepter?

Is the typesetting for either of these still the same as the one used by the blue Ignatius Bible?

thanks much.

Um, okay, so no one seems to want to compare.

How bout just this: how does the typeset (fonts) of EITHER the Ignatius or Scepter compact RSV compare with the earlier blue Ignatius Bible?

Any help?

I can’t really answer your question, but I have been looking for an RSV-CE which has better typeset, etc. I wrote Ignatius Press. The response I received is below. I have been watching the website but nothing so far. I will have to write her again and see if there is any news.

A newly typeset and newly designed edition of the RSV-CE will ship in January 2006. Slightly larger fonts, improved line spacing and wider margins. No rubrics. Updated, non-inclusive text. Standard English, in compliance with Liturgiam Authenticam. Cover styles: Hardcover ($29.95), sewn softcover ($19.95) and bonded genuine leather ($39.95). Please check our website in December for updates.

Oops, here is a newer response.

The new ETA is early 2006, due to complications beyond our control. At last report, it will be available in time for Lent. Please check our website for updates.
Still no updates on the website that I have seen.
