Now I am pretty sure (correct me if I’m wrong) that we shouldn’t compare ourselves to God as he is not humans, but what about his creatures; for example can we say to someone “you’re such an Angel.” Or what about the Saints; could we say to someone “you are a Saint.” If we can’t say this can we at least say they are LIKE angels or saints

Figures of speech are harmless. THere’s no way we can be like angels anyway. They are a whole differnet species of being.
You’re making too much of this.

Comparisons to saints is easier. They are human. We know a fair amount about humanity. Comparison to angels is different. We know only a little about angels. They were never human.

I remember this gal next door to me, 15 years old,
she visited me one day all happy,
her new boyfriend had called her an angel -
She was all smug and self hugging
I let her know - she was no angel -
She didn’t like that. “ Well, he thinks I am “
He’s trying to pull a fast one on you …etc I said.

I’ve been called a Saint - a few times -
but NEVER took it to heart -
In fact, I felt embarrassed that - I gave off that vibe !

I generally don’t refer to people as angels or saints because I’m usually very literal in my mind when I’m referring to either of those things, but I think when most people refer to someone as a saint or an angel they usually just mean it as a figure of speech for being a very kind person, kind of like when someone is called a dog for being bad, or a tiger for being aggressive. So it probably depends on the intention behind what they’re saying. More often than not, it isn’t literal.

One thing is for sure, I always found it annoying when the dying are called “angels in heaven” or “getting their angels wings” because I’m pretty sure they usually mean it literally, but it’s not correct.

I get a kick out of when people die …
And people go up to the podium claiming -
the deceased person in the coffin - was an angel or a Saint -
Just say “ they were a good Christian “ 😇
