A good distinction to make is that while the Church teaches that Christ is fully and substantially present in the Eucharist, the Church does not teach that Christ is physically present in the Eucharist. The difference being that physical presence would also have the presence of Christ’s accidents.
Of course, since the Eucharist appears by it’s accidents to be only bread, belief requires that leap of Faith to understand that Christ is truly there in substance.
