There is a non-Catholic cemetery in my area that is unfortunately pretty dilapidated. There will be a rock concert on the cemetery grounds this weekend to raise money for repairs and landscaping.
It definitely strikes me as odd, but I am wondering if it would be morally wrong in any way to participate.
If any of this is relevant: 1) It is 100% endorsed by the cemetery, which ostensibly wants people to attend to raise money. 2) The music will be standard-fare rock and pop music (the cover bands listed include Foo Fighters and Meatloaf tributes) 3) There will be alcohol served, but I certainly would not partake in excess 4) This is a nondenominational cemetery 5) I don’t know how close the events will be to actual grave sites, so if that matters, can you tell me the principles behind what would be OK and not OK, that way I can apply those principles once I know the actual location?
