Confessing a dream?

I am just curious. Very often I have very vivid dreams and sometimes the dreams are not pleasant or fit for telling. If a mortal or venial sin is committed, in a dream, should it be confessed? I’m not talking about day dreaming, or entertaining impure thoughts, I’m talking about the actual sleeping, unconsious, dreaming.

Dear Jenny,

You can’t sin while asleep–no matter what you dream. In order to sin one must be awake and able to make a consicous decision to act. No matter how guilty you feel when you wake, there is no sin.
