Confession and Conditional Baptism Question

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. This topic has been addressed elsewhere in the forums, but I still haven’t come across a satisfying answer or resolution.

The pastor of my parish is going to baptize me conditionally at the Easter Vigil. From everything I’ve read, conditional baptisms are supposed to take place during private ceremonies, followed by confession and conditional absolution. I asked my pastor about going to confession, and he just said that baptism removes all sin. I’ve been talking to him about my situation for some time now, and it looks like we’re not seeing eye to eye. It seems to me that if, in fact, I am already baptized, the conditional ceremony wouldn’t be doing anything, and the need to confess/receive absolution before receiving the Eucharist and Confirmation remains.

When it comes down to it, I just need to make sure that I’m in a state of grace when I receive Holy Communion and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.
