Confession and forgetting If i confessed something

So I just got home from confession and I cant recall If I confessed something. I cant remember If I confessed that I dwelt on Impure thoughts …Can I still receive communion later today at mass? Thanks!

if you went to confession intending to confess all your mortal sins, then all your mortal sins have been absolved, even those you forgot. and next time, save the details for the priest, do not share your confession with 3rd parties, we are not interested.

be sure to share these dilemmas with the priest, not that you have to reconfess the sins, but tell him, I always seem to forget something, he can reassure you, and more important give you help in preparing for confession so this is no longer a problem.

one habit that may do more than anything else to make preparation for confession much, much better is the daily examen. Every night before bed, or at a natural quiet point of your day, but try to make it the same time every day:
Pray to the Holy Spirit for enlightenment (very short a few words)
Review the events of the day, or the past 24 hours.
Spend some time with the feelings that arise from that review: gratitude, regret, even anger, contrition etc.
Ask God to help you forgive those who have hurt you.
Ask forgiveness for your sins and omissions, either informally or with the Act of Contrition.
Make a resolution for tomorrow, just one specific thing, not a global promise.
Say the Our Father.
Go in peace.

You will find that if you make this a firm habit you will never have trouble forgetting sins, nor will you have trouble wondering “hey I can’t think of anything to confess”.

You intended to confess them…they were absolved…but you need to still confess then in the next confession …(if they were mortal sins…with full knowledge and complete consent…you would have to judge such…if you judge they were not …no need to confess them at all…but prob you will want to anyhow given the nature of em…)

We have to confess mortal sins of course in number and kind…

and we would add any circumstance that really changed the nature of things…like one murdered ones …spouse…
