I have a TERRIBLE short term memory (but a very good long term one), when I go to confession, I flat out tell the priest that’s all I can remember at the moment.
I haven’t issue with someone telling “you did this “ and I can’t remember I don’t think the other person is lying but I truly can’t remember so I don’t how to go about this, since subject matter is been brought up to me
It is only necessary to confess in individual confession, mortal sins, in number and kind, that you can recall, which should be after a diligent examination of conscience. A forgotten sin (mortal or venial) can be confessed once remembered.
