Saturday morning I needed confession, so I went to a local parish in the hopes of finding a priest available. It was approximately 20 minutes before their daily mass and I asked the priest if he were available for confession. He told me he would do so after mass, which I thought a bit strange, but was willing to work with. Then he told me I should actually come back later in the day when there was scheduled confession. I thought priests were supposed to be available for confession before mass? Maybe not in this instance? I don’t know, all I know is that I have never been refused confession by a priest before. I felt terrible as I walked out of the church.
