I really want to be in a state of grace for easter and recently had something was revealed by the holy spirit that something I’ve been doing was sinful. I would like to go to confession for it but I live in an area that has a stay at home order because of covid 19. Is it safe to do the act of contrition and return to confession when this is all over? Or am I supposed to contact any and every priest until I can arrange something?

I dont believe my sin is mortal because the holy spirit just convicted of me of what I was doing was wrong this week. So i dont believe i had full knowledge. Also i dont believe it was mortal. I tend to deal very harshly with myself and always lean towards thinking what I do is mortal sin.

First, if you reasonably don’t think your sin is mortal, then you’re most probably not out of the state of grace.

Second, if you reasonably can’t get to confession without making huge efforts to set it up, then just make an act of perfect contrition and plan to go as soon as possible in the future.
