Today confession started at 9am. My husband and I are taking our kids easter egg hunting at 10am so I made sure I got to church at 8:45. When I pulled into the parking lot, I saw a handful of cars. I was disappointed because I know how long the lines can get. At any rate, I walked into the church and everyone was sitting in the pews, the line was empty. At this point, I didn’t know if I should just get in line…or sit in the pews?
I deided to get in line.
Pretty soon the others got up and got in line as well. There was a couple of elderly women who asked me if I was in line and I said “yes and please go in front of me”. I told them they were technically in front of me anyways.
Anyways, I made sure I was in and out within 3 minutes for my confession, the line at 9am was all the way across the church.
So, its been kinda bugging me. Is it wrong to get in line while others are in the pews praying? I feel like the answer is “no”…but I did feel quite bad for all those who got in line behind me who were there first.
