just ask the priest for an english speaking priest. there will be many and will not be a big deal for them. The cathedral you went to probably has one they know of if not the priest whom you ask. Our priest in England though he is slightly unsual as parish priests go by as was a army chaplin speaks (some) Japanese and French. So I guess there be many French priests who can hear confession in English. I still think if you want to do the confession the justice you want then its best in your own language and get the real support and advice along with it too.
Thank you for the advice, but I just didn’t have the time to do all of that…We were only in Paris for one day, and weren’t sure we’d even make the Mass at Notre Dame, but as it turned out, we did. I simply did not receive. I then confessed when I returned home. On the plane flight back, I was praying so that if something happened, God would have mercy on my soul!

If we go back to the same part of France, I will be more prepared. My sins caught me by surprise this time!

😊

Maybe, at Notre Dame you might find an American priest. You never know.
When my wife and I were there for our honeymoon, there was a choir recording a chant CD at the time. So there was a priest outside letting people know that they were allowed in, but had to observe strict silence.

My wife ( who is from Quebec) turned to me to relay the information. I commented to my wife that that was really cool. The priest then turned to me and stated (in English) that they really are quite good and they had been looking forward to this for quite awhile.

The priest was English. 😛

So yes, there are Anglophone priests in the area.
