If one knowingly withholds a mortal sin in confession, I understand that it’s invalid. But if I withheld a sin whose status I am unsure about, would it invalidate the confession, or just be very unwise?
I had had some sacrilegious/blasphemous thoughts, and couldn’t entirely discern the extent to which my will was involved in them. At certain points, I was slow to dismiss them, and worry that I may have created them myself. In addition, I did myself no favors by placing myself in a near occasion of sin by listening to bad music while struggling with this.
Was my confession invalid if this happened, and should I receive the Eucharist or not until I can get to the sacrament again? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
