Brenda,

I am like you. I have never felt a giddy feeling, or a lighter than air feeling, after Confession. In fact, I usually feel unsettled. But I attribute it to the fact that it is extremely difficult for me to talk about personal things, personal faults, and my sins. It is only because I trust in the priest, in persona Christi, that I am able to avail myself of this wonderful sacrament of reconciliation.

That is what keeps me going now - my mind knows that the priest is “in persona Christi”! But tell that to an 8 or 9 year old when everyone says to you after you have gone “now don’t you feel better?”
