Hi. Short story, joining RCIA next year, but family is protestant. Recently been cleaning up my life and trying to further pursue a life that Jesus would want all of us to follow.
Now my question. I know how important obedience is to one’s parents, and I’ve had talks with my mom recently apologizing and saying sorry for any disobedience I’ve had in my life. However, when i was 9 my mother told me how wrong pleasuring oneself is and watching pornography and such. I’ve had a period in high school where I had this problem. However, it is not a problem anymore.
Considering my mother told me not to do it, but I did it, I was thinking this falls under disobedience. Besides confession with a priest, is this something I should tell my mother and apologize for? I feel really guilty about all my past wrong doings especially if it went against what my mother told me. Or is this being somewhat scrupulous and I do not need to tell my mother anything?
