Confession problem and demon problem

I don’t know where to start but this: my problems may not be problems or may be, but here they are:
1:Confessing to family
I am a sinner, and I am more than willing to confess to a priest. My real problem is that I am not confessing my sins to my family, and I am worried that I have to in order to be forgiven by God. I just don’t want to worry them and I am also worried about their reaction. If I do have to confess to them, then how do I do it?
2ossible Demonic troubles
I may be haunted by demons, I may not be. The best proof I have is that I have seen the future in my dreams. Another problem is that, as far as I know, my family doesn’t believe that demons exist, which means that I may not get to an exorcist any time soon. What do I do?

Only GOD can forgive Sins and he has given this power to the Priests of the Catholic Church. Therefore - confessing to your family isnt a Catholic practise. As to the existance of Demons - Jesus spoke of them and casting them out numerous times in the New Testament. Anyone who refuses to believe in their existance is simply burying their own head in the sand.

Your faith seems to have the cart before the horse. We owe GOD first and family second. You need to go talk to a Priest. And tell him all of this in the Confessional. You are talking about things that are not Catholic. Perhaps he can suggest Catechetical instruction and spiritual regimen so you can learn the Faith and thereby be able to defend it when your family questions you.

I bet the demonic topic of dreams are directly related to your sins and guilt.

Solve the first problem and the second will naturally go away!

Believe in God who conquers all – so that all may be one with Him. Get baptized in the true Church. Ask a priest or bishop.

My advice is: talk to a priest! He will help you sort through these issues. You do not have to confess to your family to be forgiven. God forgives you through the Sacrament of Confession.

3:My Mom and her boyfriend are Catholics who go to Church(although they seem a bit liberal), my Uncle is a Catholic who doesn’t go to Church(I don’t know if he believes in demons), and my Grandma( who DOES believe in demons) is Lutheran

I believe that demons are careless and get a kick out of letting other demons into your temple.

It boils down to the principle of Capital Sin, where one sin leads to another… Its like each sin is assigned to a demon, and sometimes if you let your guard down, one will let another one in…

I saw this vividly in my dreams after I was brutally tormented by one of the worst…

In my dream, one ugly demon lifted a strap off the leg of another ugly demon who was on a stretcher in the kitchen of the house I grew up in… Once he lifted only one strap, the rest of the straps ripped off, and the demon flew up immediately and began thrusting violently in all directions tearing up everything in the house… Then it moved outside and tore up the sides of the house and the bushes -even tore the front end off a car in the driveway!!!

The house symbolized my body… The demon tore me up on the inside (pride, self-respect), and also tore-up my outside life (job, relationships, etc…)

Some demons are brainless, some are a little smarter.

When one demon lets another one in - WATCH OUT!

Human forgiveness such as you “might” (or might not) get from family is not the Divine forgiveness you get through the priest. Get the Divine forgiveness and pray about your family. Let the Holy Spirit guide you slowly, if in fact the priest does not give you some advice or instruction.

As to the demons & dreams, I think you may be giving yourself unnecessary fear. Again, if possible talk to the priest. I will say that my own life has been filled with pain because of family sin and I think that the kind of pain that comes from family can feel demonic, especially if it goes back to our very earliest years and the pain is ingrained in us.

I’m not dismissing the possibility of demon activity, but it is more likely to be the intense emotional impact of family sin. If it is demonic and you cannot get exorcism help, you can rely on the Holy Spirit in prayer.

Learn about the Catholic faith, as much as you can. You can rely on sacramentals like regularly praying the rosary to create spiritual protection around yourself. Rebuke the devil and he will flee. A priest certainly could advise you about this.

As the others have said, “see a priest”. Also, remember that making amends should be done ONLY if it will not create more harm. It is also possible that there is a better place and time for amends.

As we go through life we seem to dump a lot of the rubbish into our personal “cesspools”.
Cleaning of those cesspools should be done a layer at a time. There is only so much that we can psychologically handle. Confession is a place where we can uload ALL of it IF we can remember it all. But the words, “I am sorry for these and all my sins” covers it. Its the amends part that takes time.

Go ahead and begin your personal “inventory”. Be fearless and trust God. Then go to Confession.

Are there Demons? Of course; but they only have power over you if you give in to them.

So confession to a Catholic Priest is the way to go.

You do not need to confess your sins to your family in any way for your sins to be forgiven. I was reading a book by Fr. Gabriel Amorth. He says that because the main purpose of demons is to seek the destruction of souls, the Sacrament of Confession is the greatest defense against them. The Sacrament of Confession is in fact more powerful than the Rite of Exorcism. So go to confession my friend! God bless you. I will say a prayer for you.

Thanks for the info. In addition to the great advice others have given you:

• At 16 and not yet confirmed, you may not fully understand your faith. Trust in your parents and your Priest. An exorcism is only used in extreme cases and must go through the office of the Bishop (in most cases) of the diocese you are in.
• Pray to your confirmation Saint for strength. Many many Saints have been troubled by demons meant to deter them and have triumphed by their faith. Their prayers are powerful.
• Pray to your Guardian Angel for strength and protection. If it helps, forget those cute images of angels as barefoot cherubs. Angels do battle for us against evil and help to keep us on the right path. Picture it as a steroid-taking pro wrestler with a bad attidude standing right behind you with a “yeah, go ahead, make my day” look.

Baby steps…

Go to confession and make a good confession, be thorough. Open your heart and let it all out. Seek God’s grace in the sacrament of confession.

You do not need to confess anything to your family. You may be asked to do penance by the priest. Carry out whatever penance the priest tells you.

Baby steps…

The demon is throwing false obstacles and false barriers in your way. The sacrament of confession is more effective than any exorcism… I promise you.
